The historic Test series between Australia and Pakistan concluded with a nail-biting series deciding the third test. After draws in the first two Tests, the final test, at last, produced a result.

In the last inning of the Test, Pakistan was set a target of 351 runs by the visitors. The hosts started well with a 77 runs partnership for the first wicket. But Australia came back strongly and kept picking up wickets at regular intervals. The hosts their last 5 wickets for 22 runs and got bundled up at 235 runs losing the match by 115 runs. Australia thus won the match and the series by a margin of 1-0.

On the fifth day of the third test, a bizarre incident occurred involving the dismissal of Pakistani wicket-keeper Mohammed Rizwan. In the third ball of the 71st over of Pakistan’s 2nd innings, Pat Cummins bowled a vicious in swinging yorker to Mohammed Rizwan. The ball crashed into Rizwan’s front boot even before he got his bat down. The umpire immediately declared it as out and the batsman started to walk. He did not even feel the need to discuss with his partner Babar Azam and continued to walk.

Later on, in the replays, it was found that the impact of the ball would have been outside the off stump. So, if the batsman had opted to go for the DRS, the decision would have been reversed and Rizwan would have lasted longer.

As the video of the incident went viral on social media, fans started reacting. The fans felt that it was irresponsible on Rizwan’s part that he did not take the DRS. Given the situation of the match and being the last recognized batsman of the team, he did the wrong thing is what the fans felt.
