Indian batter Shreyas Iyer was seen celebrating enthusiastically after his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders’ thrilling last-ball victory against the Gujarat Titans. Rinku Singh smashed five consecutive sixes in the last as KKR chased 205 runs by losing 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Iyer, who was watching the game on TV, shared a video on his Instagram story where he exclaimed in excitement after Rinku  hit the winning six by the last ball. The 28-year-old threw his clenched fist in the air to celebrate the win.

Talking about the match, batting first at the Narendra Modi Stadium, GT posted a total of 204 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. GT lost Wriddhiman Saha early at the score of 33 runs in 4.2 overs, After that Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan added 67 runs for the second wicket. Gill got out after scoring 39 off 31 with five boundaries. While Sudharsan went on to score his second consecutive half-century.

The 21-year-old got out after scoring 53 off 38 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes. After that, Vijay Shankar took charge of the innings and remained unbeaten on 63 runs off 24 balls smashing four fours and five sixes. Sunil Narine took 3 wickets for KKR, while Suyahs Sharma put 1 in his bag.

Rashid Khan’s hat trick added more twist in the game

Chasing the winning total, KKR lost both their openers at the score of 28 in four overs. After that, Skipper Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer added 100 runs for the third wicket. Rana got out after scoring 45 runs off 29 balls, while Venkatesh went on to smash a half-century before getting out in the 16th over. The 28-year-old scored 83 runs off 40 balls with eight fours and five sixes.

After that, GT’s stand-in skipper Rashid Khan took a hat trick in the 17th over to make things difficult for KKR. The leg spinner dismissed Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Shardul Thakur consecutively as the score was reduced to 155 for 7. The match went down to the last over with KKR requiring 29 runs from six balls. Umesh Yadav took a single on the first ball. After that, Rinku went on to smash five sixes from five balls and won the match for his team from the jaws of defeat. The defending champions GT suffered their first loss of the season after winning their first two games consecutively.
