Watch: Andre Russell hits the ball out of the park in Big Bash League 2022-23
Andre Russell is one of the most dangerous batters in T20 cricket around the globe. He has done well for a lot of teams in various leagues. Currently, he is playing for Melbourne Renegades in the ongoing season of the Big Bash League 2022-23. This is his second stint with the team, having played for them a few years ago.
Meanwhile, in the recently-concluded game against the 2012-13 winners, Brisbane Heat, the right-hander has probably hit the biggest six in the tournament’s history. While chasing a meager total of 138, the 2018-19 winners had a poor start as they lost four wickets for just nine runs. The 2014 Indian T20 League winner came to bat after the fall of the fourth wicket. On the fourth ball of his innings, the Jamaican probably hit the longest six of the tournament.
After all, the ball went onto the roof of the Simonds Stadium, Geelong, Victoria. The video of the incident is doing rounds of the internet.

I was just backing myself: Andre Russell
Meanwhile, the Trinbago Knight Riders player in the CPL scored 57 runs in 42 balls including two fours and six sixes. This performance earned him the Player of the Match award. During the post-match ceremony, the former Islamabad United player in the PSL said that he isn’t accustomed to playing the new ball. He added that the only to deal with pressure is to back his own game.
“Going down with a brand new ball under pressure, just one way: I back myself. And it happened tonight so I’m happy. I’m not accustomed to batting [against] the new ball. So my way of getting away from the pressure and put the pressure back on the bowler is actually just backing myself. It’s good that you hit a bowler that just got successful wickets behind each other. Hitting him on the roof, it kind of allow him to ease back a bit off me so it was a good night for us tonight.
