Pakistan is currently taking on Zimbabwe in a Group 2 match of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Winning the toss, Zimbabwe decided to bat first at the Perth Stadium. However, the Pakistani bowlers asserted dominance throughout the innings to keep them restricted.

The best moment of the innings came in the 14th over from Shadab Khan. Captain Babar Azam took a one-handed stunner to get rid of Regis Chakabva. Shadab bowled a fuller delivery outside the off-stump which took Chakabva’s bat’s edge. Babar Azam, stationed at slips, dove to his right and pulled off a one-handed catch. The video of the dismissal has gone viral on the internet.

Here is Babar Azam’s flying catch

As for the match, the Men in Green completely dominated the first half of it. Wesley Madhevere and Craig Ervine got a decent start for Zimbabwe, but that did not last for long. After the first wicket fell in the 5th over, Zimbabwe kept suffering regular blows.

Only Sean Williams could get some runs under his belt. He scored 31 runs in the 28 deliveries that he faced. The team only managed 130 runs in their allotted 20 overs and lost eight wickets in the process. For Pakistan, Mohammad Wasim Jr was the pick of the bowlers as he took a four-wicket haul in the match. Shadab Khan also got three wickets, while Haris Rauf got one.

In the chase, the Pakistan openers continued their poor form from the last match as they were dismissed for a team score of just 23 runs. Brad Evans got the wicket of captain Babar Azam (four runs in nine balls), while Blessing Muzarabani got the wicket of Mohammad Rizwan (14 runs in 16 balls).

The Men in Green lost their previous match against arch-rivals India in a thrilling encounter by four wickets. They would be desperate for a win in this match because a loss would severely jeopardise their chances of reaching the all-important tournament’s semi-finals.
