There was no surprise as the bowler wasn’t happy with the shot as Afridi followed it up with a short ball and exchanged a few words. The Australian batter though was all smiles as he patted the bowler on his way back to the mark.
Khurram Shahzad and Aamir Jamal made their test debut for Pakistan. Sarfaraz Ahmed was back in the team replacing Mohammed Rizwan for the first game. The Australian did not give a debut to fast bowler Lance Morris despite the Perth surface wearing a green look.
None of the Pakistani bowlers could make much impact despite the pitch being bowler-friendly. Shaheen Shah Afridi finally got the breakthrough for his side when he got the wicket of Usman Khawaja.
Sarfaraz Ahmed took a neat catch to break the 126-run opening wicket stand with Khawaja falling for 41. Meanwhile, at the other end, David Warner was his usual busy self as he brought up yet another half-century. Australian fans and experts will hope David Warner goes on to make a big one to end his test cricket career on a high.
