Over the years, cricket has seen some crazy fans inside the stadium trying to catch the ball without caring about injuries. After all, most of them aren’t trained to handle hardball. However, the fans have tried to catch the ball from inside the stands and on some occasions gotten injured as well. The same level of craziness was seen during one of the games of the ongoing Big Bash League 2022-23.

During the game between Sydney Thunders and Brisbane Heat, Olivier Davies from the Thunders hit a long hit over the deep midwicket boundary. Ross Whiteley, who was bowling at the time, bowled a slower ball slightly outside the right-hander’s off stumps. However, Davies read the ruse and deposited the ball in the stands. One of the fans sitting in the stands tried to catch the ball falling backward.

However, the ball bounced off the fans’ palms and he hit his head on the chair. Thankfully, the fan wasn’t injured at all. The video is going viral on the internet.

Talking about the game, the 2012-13 winners, Brisbane won the toss and elected to field first. The decision was proven right when they held the opposition at 96/3 in 15 overs. However, in the last six overs, the bowlers were helpless as the Western Sydney-based team scored 88 runs and lost three wickets only. The 2015-16 winners amassed 182/6 at the end of the innings.

For the Lime Green brigade (Sydney Thunders), the likes of Daniel Sams (36 off 15) and Alex Ross (25 off 12) provided the finishing touches. On the other hand, James Bazley took four wickets for just 22 runs for the Teal Brigade (Brisbane Heat). In reply, despite Colin Munro’s 98, the team fell short by 11 runs. Notably, eight batters from the Jimmy Pierson-led Heat failed to cross the double-digit mark. For the Chris Green-led Thunders, Nathan McAndrew took four wickets.
