The fifth Ashes Test got underway today, January 14th in Hobart. England captain Joe Root won a crucial toss and put Australia in to bat in hostile conditions. The move worked wonders as England pacers run riot and dismantled the top order. At 12-3, with Warner, Khawaja and Smith back in the pavilion, Australia were in deep trouble. However, Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head then stabilised the innings. The duo added 71 runs for the fourth wicket. Marnus was looking really good but was dismissed in a weird way. Labuschagne tried to play the full pitched delivery on the leg side but lost his balance to miss the ball that went on to hit the stumps.

Meanwhile, Australia made a few changes in the team and brought in Travis Head in place of Marcus Harris. Head, who scored a century in the first match was ruled out due to COVID-19 from the remaining games. He was drafted into the team for fifth Test and so far has done a remarkable job. Head is currently batting at 85, with Australia in a much better position at 184-4.
