Watch: Suryakumar Yadav finishing India’s innings in his signature style
In the ongoing Super 12 game between India and the Netherlands in the 20-20 World Cup 2022, India has down well so far. After winning the toss, the 2007 winners decided to bat first on a sluggish wicket at the Sydney Cricket Ground. After the powerplay, the Men In Blue were reeling at 32/1, having lost the wicket of vice-captain KL Rahul. However, the replays showed that the umpire give the wrong decision against him.
Meanwhile, after skipper Rohit Sharma got out after scoring 53 off 39 balls, Suryakumar Yadav came in. The latter has been in a dream form in the last few months. Even though he couldn’t score much against arch-rivals Pakistan, he definitely showed why he is one of the most dangerous batters in the modern-day game. During his stay at the crease, he hit seven fours and a six, including the last-ball six to end the innings.
With that shot, he completed his half-century in just 25 balls. Talking about the shot, Logan van Beek ran into bowl from round the wicket to cramp Yadav up. However, the Indian batter was up to the task and deposited the white Kookaburra for a six. With this shot, the former champions amassed 179/2 at the end of the innings.

Talking about the game, the Indian bowlers are in no mood to give away anything. Apart from the 11-run over from Arshdeep Singh, the bowling unit has been keeping it tight. At the time of writing, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is yet to concede a run in his spell. In the two overs he bowled, both were maidens and he also took the wicket of Vikramjit Singh.
Max O’Dowd, who was looking dangerous, was cleaned up by Axar Patel, who had a difficult game against Pakistan. Meanwhile, at the time of writing, the Orange Army needs 133 runs in 11 overs. They managed to score 47/2 after nine overs. The chase will get difficult for the Holland team as the wicket is getting slower.
