WWE: 5 early predictions for 2024

2023 has almost come to an end in WWE. There are a couple of editions to each of the Monday Night Raw, Friday Night Smackdown, and Tuesday Night NXT before the new year would witness new feuds. Going forward, there have been some exciting matchups. The tournament to become the number one contender to face Logan Paul for the US title at Royal Rumble has been a good strategy from the WWE universe. Likewise, women’s feuds are in good shape as well, with damage control being at the centre stage. Other titles like the US Championship and the North American Championship have found their relevance as well.

2023 was one of the best years for the fans in recent times. Towards the second half of the year, the fans got to see so many comebacks, which were rumoured to happen. John Cena and The Rock made their return to the business in Smackdown in August and made the fans happy. On the night of the Survivor series last month, Randy Orton, CM Punk, and R Truth made their returns. The Internet broke when the cult of personality made his return to the universe after more than 9 years. The upcoming feuds are being looked up to by the fans who are expecting a lot from their favourite superstars in the days to come.

Moving ahead for the next year, here are some of the major predictions for 2024 for the first few months of the year.

5. Gunther’s intercontinental title reign

Gunther has been phenomenal as the Intercontinental champion. The ring general has been the longest reigning champion with the belt to his name. The leader of the Imperium has remained the champion for over 554 days now and has given some fantastic matches in his title defence. He is probably the superstar with the most title defences in the current year. Every week or two, he defends his title and proves himself to be a worthy holder of the belt. His feuds against Chad Gable, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, and The Miz have been very good to watch.

In 2023, the streak of Gunther is likely to continue. He will be up against the new opponents, or probably the old ones. The prediction is for his future as an Intercontinental champion. Gunther is likely to win the Royal Rumble 2024 against his opponent which is yet to be decided. Since the streak has been long, WWE might take some time to break it. WrestleMania 2024 might see his streak to be broken. Either Drew McIntyre or The Miz are likely to be in a feud with the ring general by the time the big event happens.
