‘Ye pehle he hona tha 1st test se ‘ – Fans react as Ishan Kishan likely to make his Test debut in Ahmedabad against Australia
Both India and Australia are all set for the final showdown of the Border-Gavaskar trophy with the fourth Test in Ahmedabad starting on March 9th. India showed a dominant performance in the first two games in Nagpur and Delhi, respectively. On the other hand, Australia made a great comeback in Indore winning by nine wickets and also qualifying for the Test Championship final.
Now, for the fourth Test, India are likely to make a few changes in their playing XI in order to win the series and book their spot in the Test Championship final. Mohammad Shami is expected to make a comeback after missing the third Test in Indre. He might replace Mohammad Siraj and come as a second fast-bowling option alongside Umesh Yadav.
Meanwhile, young wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan is also likely to make his Test debut in Ahmedabad as reported by the Indian Express. He might come in the place of KS Bharat, who also debuted in this series. Bharat has been quite good behind the wicket, but he couldn’t make any effect with his batting. Kishan is expected to be the like-for-like replacement of Rishabh Pant and the skipper Rohit Sharma might choose him to change the momentum of the match with his quickfire cameo. He made headlines by scoring a double ton in an ODI against Bangladesh in December 2022. He hasn’t been able to do something remarkable since then.
Steve Smith to lead Australia again
For Australia, Steve Smith will take on the captaincy duties again as Pat Cummins is not coming back to India for the final Test. Smith lead the side to a big victory in Indore and Australia would have high hopes for him to win the fourth Test and draw the series. Cummins is also selected as the skipper for the upcoming ODI series, but now his participation is in doubt.
India have already retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after winning the first two Test, but their participation in the Test final totally depends on the result of the fourth Test and the series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

We needed a lefty in middle order and effect that kishan brings is more than enough as we saw in ODIs in Bangladesh— Shobhit Yadav (@shy3499) March 7, 2023

Kl rahul should play in middle play as wk… atleast he is better than kishan

KL Rahul has 8 years rope and then some and other players play a few bad games whilst everyone does the same but they get the boot. Kohli/Pujara have been stinking the MO out but WK is the issue – Dravid & Rohit ladies & gentleman pic.twitter.com/lb7ZSCoALc

Will be unfair on bharat, played on 3 rank turners and now Kishan will play his first match on a good wicket
