The Netherlands team will travel to India in the second week of September and start their preparations for the upcoming ODI World Cup which is scheduled to take place later this year in October and November in India. The details of the match are not yet confirmed. The matches are scheduled to be played a few days before the main tournament starts.
“Yes, we will be arriving (in India) a few days earlier and we will play some matches (in Bengaluru) before entering the official warm-up games. These matches are important for us because we are yet to play any competitive matches after getting qualified for the World Cup earlier last month,” a Netherlands cricket association (KNCB) official was quoted as saying to PTI.

After the completion of the practice matches, the Dutch team will travel either to Hyderabad or Thiruvananthapuram for official warm-up matches. However, Hyderabad’s stadium would be preferred as they would be playing the first two matches of their campaign. The Netherlands side will play the first match of their campaign against
Pakistan on October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, in Hyderabad on the other hand, they will face New Zealand on October 9. This would be their fifth appearance in the ODI World Cup.
The hectic schedule for the Netherlands before the quadrennial tournament gets significance as a result of their coach Ryan Cook’s emotional request to arrange some games in the sub-continent so they could become used to the conditions. “This is a call-out to anyone who wants to play us. We’d love to have a fixture or two. Our guys have not been to the sub-continent many times before so it would be good to have some fixtures somewhere in the sub-continent as well,” Cook was quoted as saying post their World Cup entry.
