After a dismal start to their campaign in the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League, Hyderabad is finally gaining positive momentum in the tournament. In the four matches that Hyderabad have played in the tournament so far, Washington Sundar has been an integral part of their performance. He has been delivering for the team with both bat and ball. But as per the latest news, the star all-rounder has picked up an injury in the team’s latest match which will keep him out of action for at least one week.

Hyderabad faced Gujarat on the 11th of April at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The men in orange picked up their second consecutive victory of the season with a comfortable 8 wickets win in the match. Washington Sundar bowled three overs in the match conceding just 14 runs, but could not complete his full quota as he sustained an injury between his thumb and first finger. The one over that Sundar was due to bowl was completed by Aiden Markram, who gave away nine runs in the over.

As the news has confirmed, Sundar will not be able to take part in the tournament at least for one week. The extent of the injury and whether he will be available after one week is still to be confirmed. Notably, Hyderabad’s middle-order batter Rahul Tripathi could not continue his innings because of a hamstring injury he sustained in the match.

Hyderabad will be missing the services of Sundar. He scored 40 runs off 14 deliveries in the first match and has picked up 4 wickets conceding runs at a 7.86 economy rate. They will hope that he recovers soon and becomes available for selection.
