“I believe he has the ability to be the finisher as well”: Sunil Gavaskar praises star Indian Batter

Lucknow is facing Hyderabad in the 12th match of the Indian T20 League at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. KL Rahul is captaining the Lucknow team for the season. KL Rahul is believed to be the most important batter of the team, he has also made himself an integral part of the Indian national team in the recent past.
KL Rahul has always grabbed attention for his attractive stroke play and the class that he possesses. But towards the initial phase of his career, his inconsistency was a concern. But in recent times he has been extremely consistent in all three formats of the game and has proved himself to be an integral part of any team in which he is present.
Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar was heard praising the Indian batter in a program on Star Sports. Gavaskar spoke about Rahul’s class and the variety of shots that he has in his repertoire. Having already proved himself as a top-order batter, Gavaskar believes that Rahul has all the elements in him to be a great finisher as well.
“KL Rahul is such an integral part of any team. He opens the batting and gets to bat 20 overs and sets the pace for his team. I believe he has the ability to be the finisher as well. He’s not just somebody who can begin the innings and get the team off to a good start. He has all the shots in the book to finish it off as well. So, if he gets going till the 15th-16th over, then LSG can post 200-plus on the board,”- quoting Gavaskar from ‘Cricket Live’ on Star Sports.
