While fans await one of the epic clashes of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 between India and Pakistan on October 23, Sunday, they also have their fingers crossed and are praying for the mercy of the rain gods. To comment more, the weather forecasters are predicting showers on the evening of match-day, and the two teams will battle it out at 7 PM AEDT (1:30 PM IST), which means there might be rain interruption.

As it stands, the Bureau of Meteorology of the Australian Government predicts that there is a 70% chance for showers in the evening with thunderstorms in northeast suburbs. “70% chances of showers, most likely this evening. Cloudy. High (70%) chance of showers, most likely this evening. The chance of a thunderstorm in the northeast suburbs. Winds southerly 15 to 25 km/h tending southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h in the evening,” Times of India quoted the Bureau of Meteorology as saying.

For the unversed, the group stage matches do not have reserve days and a washout here could prove costly for both teams and also for fans, who await to witness the spectacle unfold at an iconic venue.

India fancy their chances in the 20-20 World Cup 2022

Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper, will lead India in the showpiece event for the first time. It will be great for him to start against the arch-rivals if at all, the match happens without any interruption. The Men in Blue have many new faces this year, and the team under the guidance of head coach Rahul Dravid, will look to avenge Babar Azam and his men for the defeat in the previous edition of the 20-20 World Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav, the man in form, will be the X-factor for team India going into the tournament with his ability to play the ball in all parts of the ground.  Arshdeep Singh, the left-arm pacer, will have to do his homework and get things done for India by rattling the Pakistan openers Babar and Mohammad Rizwan. Mohammed Shami will have to prove effective again after making a  statement with his three-for in the warm-up game against Australia on October 17.
