IPL 2023: Three captains with the worst record in Indian Premier League
2. Mahela Jayawardene – 35.00%
The former captain of Sri Lanka is widely recognised as having one of the game’s sharpest minds. He had great success leading his country’s team as captain and has played a key role in the Mumbai Indians‘ success in the competition as head coach. Jayawardene captained three IPL teams: Kochi Tuskers Kerala (KTK), Delhi Daredevils (DD), and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). He never, however, managed to pull together a series of successful outcomes when switching between clubs. According to the statistics, Jayawardene led his team in 30 games, however, he only managed to win nine of them while losing 16. One contest resulted in a draw.
