New Zealand batter Devon Conway has taken to the IPL 2023 like a hand in glove. The southpaw has been one of the most consistent IPL batters this season with 414 runs in 9 matches just 8 shy of top run scorer Faf du Plessis in IPL 2023. The Kiwi batter was at his absolute best when CSK played PBKS at home in the 42nd match of IPL 2023.
After electing to bat first, the successful pairing of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Conway walked in at the Chepauk Stadium. Both started off in the usual assured fashion and took the MS Dhoni-led side to 86 before the first wicket of Gaikwad fell.
Conway however was unmoved by the dismissal and continued playing at his usual pace. He finished the game unbeaten at 92 off 52 with 16 fours and 1 six. As a result of Conway’s brilliant knock, CSK reached 200/4.

MS Dhoni finished in style
The entirety of the Chepauk crowd along with millions watching on TV were waiting for MS Dhoni to bat against PBKS. The mercurial captain came to play at the end of the 19th over and hit two consecutive sixes on the last two balls of the innings. The two sixes got the entirety of the Chepauk crowd on their feet.
CSK are currently in 4th with 10 points in 8 matches. Shikhar Dhawan led PBKS side meanwhile linger at 6th with 8 points in 8 matches.
