Jay Shah opens up on India’s prospect of playing Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan
India and Pakistan cricket teams haven’t played each other in a bilateral series since the 2012-13 series. In that series, both teams played two T20Is and three ODIs in India. Since then, both teams only play each other either in the World Events or in the Asia Cup. Apart from this, both teams don’t play each other at all due to volatile political relations.
Meanwhile, a prospect was building of the Men In Blue playing in Pakistan due to the Men’s Asia Cup 2023. For the unversed, the tournament will be hosted by Pakistan next year. However with a little less than a year left in the tournament, the Indian Cricket Board’s secretary Jay Shah hasn’t hesitated on asking for a neutral venue.
“Neutral venue for Asia Cup is not unprecedented and we have decided that we will not travel to Pakistan,” Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI and also the president of the ACC, said.
“I have decided that we will play at a neutral venue,” Shah said.

India and Pakistan will lock horns in the 20-20 World Cup 2022
In the midst of all this, the Asian Rivals will lock horns in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Both teams have been slotted in the Group 2 of the Super 12 round. Notably, both teams played each other twice in the Men’s Asia Cup last month. Both teams share the spoils. Meanwhile, Pakistan would be looking to register their second win against India in the history of the tournament.
On the other hand, India would look to resume the normal services of the tournament. From 2007 to 2016, India remained undefeated against their arch-rivals. However, the streak was broken last year in Dubai by the Babar Azam’s men.
