The ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) hasn’t really been great for Karachi Kings. So far, they have lost all their eight games. Thus, this had led to their captain Babar Azam being severely criticized.

To make matters worse, a recent video where the franchise’s president Wasim Akram can be seen scolding Karachi’s captain has gone viral as well. In the video, the legendary pacer can be seen losing his temper. Red-faced Akram can be seen talking with Azam at the boundary line during the last over of the match.

This incident occurred during their game against Multan Sultans on Wednesday. While chasing 175, the Rizwan-led side were 146-3 in the 18th over, and needed 29 to win from the last two over. However, a 20-run over from Chris Jordan meant that the Sultans needed just seven from the final over.

Thus, they won the game with three balls to spare. Mohammad Rizwan’s stellar 74-run knock ensured that he went on to win the player of the match award as well. After the match, the video spread like wildfire. Akram later clarified that he was only talking about the bowlers’ performance.

“I asked Babar can our pacers not bowl yorkers?,” said Wasim Akram, as quoted by The News. However, the video didn’t sit well with the fans. They felt that it wasn’t right to scold Pakistan’s captain in such a manner. In the meanwhile, Azam felt that they didn’t execute their plans properly.

“We’ve played well in the last two matches, unable to cross the line in the end. We haven’t executed our plans and our fielding has been poor. We have been making mistakes, hopefully we perform better in the coming matches. Execution is the key,” said Babar Azam after the completion of the match.
