The 15th edition of the Indian T20 League has come to an end and the team India are all set to square up against South Africa for a five-match T20 series at home. The much-anticipated series will be played from 9th to 19th June 2022.
India will be playing the series without their senior members such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, etc. After dishing out impressive performances in the Indian T20 League 2022, youngsters such as Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik have been handed their maiden call-ups.
Veteran batter, Dinesh Karthik has been recalled into India’s T20 squad. He impressed one and all with his batting exploits in the Indian T20 League and it will be interesting to see how he fares in the series. Also, the fans would also want Chahal and Kuldeep both to be part of the playing XI. However, the chances of that happening are less likely. The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel have also retained their spots in the squad.
On the other hand, South Africa too would be keen to put on a good show in all three aspects of the game. Quinton de Kock, Aiden Markram, and David Miller have shown great form with the bat in the Indian T20 League 2022. They will be the ones to watch out for. In the bowling unit, Anrich Nortje marks his return to the squad. He will share the fast bowling duties alongside Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen and Wayne Parnell.
