Three contenders who can replace Jasprit Burmah in 20-20 World Cup
Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 due to a back stress fracture and has left a big void in the bowling lineup. Someone like Bumrah, who can fulfil both roles of bowling in the powerplay and bowling at the death, being absent would mean that Indian management would be looking at other pacers in the pecking order.
Having said that, let us take a look at three contenders who can replace Jasprit Bumrah at the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
1. Mohammed Shami
Mohammad Shami had an impressive Indian T20 League 2022 where he picked up 20 wickets for the Gujarat Franchise at an average of 24.40 and a strike rate of 125.68. He had an economy rate of 8 which was outstanding considering Shami does both roles of bowling in the powerplay and at the death. If Shami replaces Jasprit Bumrah then the bowling attack will have variety as Shami will provide the express pace that India needs and will add variety to the pace bowling attack, the presence of Shami will add to the death bowling arsenal of India, considering that death bowling has been concerning for the Men in Blue in recent times.
