Royal Challengers Bangalore have yet again been thrown out of the Indian Premier League due to poor showing. Bangalore’s 6-wicket loss at the hands of Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans have ended their hopes for IPL 2023 Playoff qualification.

It is once again that RCB fans would have to make do with ‘entertainment’, something that RCB promises to deliver every year. As is the case each season, the charge for the IPL trophy has been pushed to the next season.

Despite being used to failure in the IPL, RCB fans have been lamenting the loss of yet another chance for the title. To lessen their pain a little, Virat Kohli, the superstar of RCB and Team India has come up with a heartfelt Instagram post wherein he thanks for the support and promises to come back stronger.  In the post, Kohli thanked the coaches, management and his teammates and asked them to hold their heads high.

“A season which had it’s moments but unfortunately we fell short of the goal. Disappointed but we must hold our heads high. To our loyal supporters, grateful for backing us every step of the way. A big thank you to the coaches, management and my teammates. We aim to be back stronger,” he wrote on Instagram.

RCB’s last IPL 2023 game brought out the same issues that have been plaguing the team since the inception of the franchise. The Bangalore team continues to score 200 runs on a 220 pitch and feel good about their batting while the opposite team continues to chase that down without breaking a sweat. RCB team continue to blame their bowling for their loss. Rinse and repeat!

Against GT, they scored 197/5 in the first inning with an ordinary century (101 off 61 balls) from Virat Kohli. Kohli said that it now falls on the shoulders of the bowlers to defend this decent total. Reality however ran its course and Shubman Gill showed Virat Kohli and millions of cricket watchers a proper T20 knock wherein he made an unbeaten 104 of 52 to win the match for GT by 6 wickets and throw RCB out of the tournament.
