Watch: Mohammed Shami cleans up David Warner, off-stump goes for cartwheel
Australia opening batter David Warner hasn’t had the greatest of starts in the ongoing first Test against India. In the third over, Mohammed Shami bowled a ball that seamed back in. After this, the ball brushed the pads on its way to the off-stumps. Also, the off-stump went for a cartwheel as it was a high pace delivery.
Talking about the game, the wicket was anticipated to be helpful for the spinner. However, at the time of writing, Shami and Mohammed Siraj have taken a wicket each. The former trapped Usman Khawaja lbw in the second over of the innings. On the other hand, spinners such as Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel have bowled so far. They haven’t got any wickets but have got occasional turn from the surface.
Meanwhile, the Aussies have scored 27 runs for the loss of two wickets in 11 overs.

David Warner’s horrendous time in India in Tests continues
This is Warner’s third Test series in India. In 2013 and 2017, he played eight Tests combined. 10 years back, he played four games and could manage 195 at an average of 24.37 including two fifties and a duck. In 2017, the 35-year-old came back to play four games and had worse series than he had in 2013.
In the series, he managed two runs less than he amassed in the 2012-13 series. The left-hander averaged 24.12 including one fifty that came in the last game of the series. In the ongoing first Test, the New South Wales player scored only one run before being dismissed. Talking about his overall record against India, it is not much better than what he has in Indian conditions.
After playing 19 games, the two-time World Cup winner has only scored 1149 runs in 35 innings. He averages 32.82 including four hundreds (all in Australia) and three fifties.
