Guyana Amazon Warriors are currently leading the table in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). They were playing against the Trinbago Knight Riders in their recent CPL match.  Guyana had played four games with 7 points, while the Knight Riders had 7 points from their previous 5 games.

Imran Tahir the Guyana skipper won the toss and elected to bowl first. At the end of the day, the Trinidad Knight Riders were left disappointed. Guyana Amazon Warriors took home the win by 6 wickets with 5 balls left to play. This win meant that Guyana solidified their place at the top of the table with 9 points.

The star for the visiting side with the bat was Pakistani left-hander Saim Ayub. The 21-year-old scored 62 runs in a mere 43 balls to guide his team to an easy win. Ayub was supported well by Shai Hope who scored a half-century for his side.

Chasing 173 to win, Guyana got a good start thanks to their opener Saim Ayub. The left-hander hit 4 fours and 4 sixes in his knock of 62. Ayub began his assault with a huge slog sweep six off Akeal Hossein.

This was followed by a six straight down the ground off Terrance Hinds. Ayub then smashed Hinds for one more six. This time off a short ball that had no pace behind it as it sailed into the crowd. The shot was very reminiscent of the shots Nicolas Pooran has been playing recently.
