‘We wanted to…’ – Shaheen Afridi opens up on the reason behind Pakistan players loading their luggage on their own
Pakistan Cricket Team has touched down the Australian turf for the upcoming three-match Test series against Australia. The team landed recently at the Canberra International Airport in Canberra ahead of their four-day tour game against Prime Minister XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. Meanwhile, the Pakistan cricketers attracted the headlines after they were seen loading their luggage on their own in a truck at the Canberra International Airport in Canberra.
The video of this particular incident immediately went viral on social media as soon as it was shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter). It also garnered a lot of different reactions from cricket fans, especially from Pakistan and their neighbouring country India.
“We call this team a family and helped them as a family.” – Shaheen Afridi
In the same line of events, the T20I skipper Shaheen Afridi came up with a clearance and statement over this confusion around the question of Pakistan players loading their luggage.
“We only had 30 minutes to catch our next flight and we helped because there were just two people; apart from this, we wanted to wrap it up fast and to save time, we call this team a family and helped them as a family,” said Shaheen Afridi to reporters on Sunday in Canberra.
“We don’t have much experience with Canberra, but I am sure this four-day match against PM XI will help us prepare well for the series against the home team starting from Perth,” he added later.
Notably, the Pakistan Cricket Team under the captaincy of new Test skipper Shan Masood will be playing the first Test of the three-match series against Australia on Thursday, December 14 at the Perth Stadium in Perth.
