WTC Final 2021-23: 5 reasons why India suffered humiliating defeat against Australia
Absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer
Rishabh Pant was without a doubt the player that India most desperately needed in the game. The 2021 Gabba match is a legendary example of his significance. And, whenever the Indian batsmen were having problems, videos of the game appeared on social media. The same was true with Bumrah, whose absence greatly hurt India. Shreyas Iyer, who scored a record-breaking amount of runs on his debut, was also absent. Rahane was duly inserted in his stead, but nobody supported the experienced batsman, particularly in the second innings.
