5 Players Who Didn’t Deserve To Be A Part Of The Final Squad Of India For The 20-20 World Cup
After having a very poor Asia Cup campaign, India will now set their eyes on the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in Australia. However, ahead of that mega event, India will play two T20I series against Australia and South Africa respectively. Even, they will play a three-match ODI series against the Proteas.
Now, on 12 September 2022, the Indian selectors announced the final squad for those series and the World Cup. Meanwhile, the squad for that ODI series is yet to be announced. Players like Jasprit Bumrah, and Harshal Patel made a comeback. But, there are several names that made fans shocked and surprised. Even, they showed their disappointment on the social media platform.
Here are the five players who did not deserve a place in the final squad of India for the 20-20 World Cup
KL Rahul
This batter just made a comeback to the Indian team after a long gap due to injury. He played some innings in Zimbabwe. But, he failed to score big in that series. Still, the Indian cricket team showed faith in him. In the Asia Cup, he played as an opener with skipper Rohit Sharma. But, again he failed to make an impact.
In the tournament, he scored 132 runs in five innings, at an average of 26.40. He passed the fifty-run mark only once. Against Afghanistan, KL Rahul scored 62 runs off 41 balls, including six fours and two sixes. Hence, fans were not happy to see him again in that final squad for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup.
