‘Aur koi stadium nahi bacha kya India me’ – Twitter reacts after Narendra Modi Stadium confirmed as host of India vs Pakistan ODI World Cup 2023
The confusion around ODI World Cup and Asia Cup 2023 continues to linger on and the two cricketing boards namely India and Pakistan are yet to agree on a single term. India has declined Pakistan’s invitation to play Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan. The Indian Cricket Board has cited security reasons for their decision. In a show of protest, Pakistan have also declined to play the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
The financial might of the Indian Cricket Board however has pushed Pakistan to organise a ‘Hybrid-model’ for Asia Cup 2023 wherein India will play their matches in Dubai or in another venue and Pakistan plays their games in Pakistan. In what has come out as a shock to Pakistan Cricket Board, however, three ACC members namely Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have declined the offer to play in the hybrid model.
Pakistan were also apprehensive about playing their ODI World Cup match against India at the Narendra Modi stadium earlier. A new report however has emerged that suggests that PCB have now agreed to play in Ahmedabad as previously planned by Indian Cricket Board.
Indian cricket fans were the most ecstatic after the report broke out. Soon they took to social media to reveal their thoughts on what has come out as a moral and financial victory for the cricketing giant.

Why is Narendra Modi stadium the only stadium left in India to host important matches? Why not Eden Gardens with the same capacity?

If India doesn’t come to Pakistan, we will not be going for World Cup – Najam Sethi
Earlier PCB chairman Najam Sethi had said that Pakistan going for ODI World Cup 2023 would be a problem if India doesn’t travel to Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023. “We have gone so far to say play only four games in Pakistan and play the rest of the games in the neutral venue. So we have given solutions for not just one issue but also for the World Cup and Champions Trophy (2025). Because if we don’t go to India and play there’s going to be a problem And if India doesn’t come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy (2025) then there’s a problem, ” Sethi said earlier.
