IPL 2015 – RR stunned DC with a last-ball victory
One of the most thrilling finishes in the history of the RR vs DC rivalry. Batting first in match number 6 of IPL 2015 at the Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi, DC posted a total of 184 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Shreyas Iyer (44 off 30) and Mayank Agarwal (37 off 21) gave a decent start to the home team by adding 45 runs for the first wicket. After that, skipper JP Duminy took charge and remained unbeaten on 44 off 38, along with Angelo Matthews (27 off 14) as DC crossed 180 runs.
Chasing the total, RR didn’t have a great start as they went on to lose 4 wickets for 78 runs in 10.4 overs. After that, Ajinkya Rahane and Deepak Hooda took the innings further by adding 52 runs for the fifth wicket. Rahane got out after scoring 47 runs off 39 balls, while Hooda went on to score a half-century by smashing 54 runs off 25 balls before getting out in the 19th over. The match went down to the last ball of the last over with RR requiring 3 runs to win. Matthews delivered a full toss which Tim Southee hit for a boundary through the covers to get RR a thrilling victory.
