Rahane’s knock went in vain as DC registered a thrilling 1-run victory
DC registered the closest victory against RR in match number 39 of IPL 2012. Batting first at Arun Jaitley stadium, DC posted a total of 152 runs for the loss of 6 wickets, powered by Virender Sehwag’s 63-run knock from 39 balls with eight fours and two sixes. Pankaj Singh and Amit Singh took 2-2 wickets for RR.
Chasing the winning total, RR had a great start as Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane added 99 runs for the first wicket in 13.5 overs Dravid got out after scoring 40 off 38 balls hitting five boundaries, while Rahane remained unbeaten on 84 runs off 63 balls with nine fours and a maximum. Despite this knock, Rahane couldn’t win the game for RR as they fell short of just 1 run from DC’s total scoring 151 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.
