‘Jaha matter bade hote hai waha Rinku Singh khade kote hai’ – Fans in disarray as Rinku Singh hits five sixes in last over to take KKR home against GT

The Gujarat Giants and the Kolkata Knight Riders clashed against each other in the 13th match of the IPL 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. GT won the toss and chose to bat first. They got off to a solid start, courtesy of Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill. Saha made 17 off 17 balls with three fours, while Gill made 39 off 31 balls, including five fours.

Sai Sudharsan continued his magic at number three for Gujarat and scored a vital 53 off 38 balls with three fours and two sixes. Vijay Shankar continued the good work as the Tamil Nadu batter made a cracking 63 off 24 balls with four fours and five sixes. These two innings propelled GT to 204-4 in their 20 overs.

Sunil Narine was the most successful bowler for KKR as he picked up 3-33 in his four overs. In the second innings, KKR were tottering at 28-2 but then Venkatesh Iyer made a stellar 83 off 40 balls with eight fours and five sixes.

Rinku Singh smashed 43 runs in the last two overs to hand KKR an unlikely win

KKR skipper Nitish Rana chipped in with an invaluable 45 off 29 balls with four fours and three sixes. The match went on as Gujarat struck back with wickets to stem the run flow. When Shardul Thakur fell at 155-7, it looked the game was done and dusted for KKR. But they found a hero in Rinku Singh as he made a blistering unbeaten 45 off 29 balls with one four and six sixes. He ripped the Gujarat death bowlers to pieces.

The left-hander smashed Joushua Little little for 14 runs in the 19th over. Then in the 20th over, he subjected Yash Dayal to absolute carnage. Dayal had not had a good time with the ball until then and had conceded 38 runs in his three overs. The first ball of the 20th over was a single that Umesh Yadav took and brought Rinku back on strike. Then the beast inside Rinku emerged as he whacked Dayal out of the ground and hit five massive sixes to bring KKR to an unlikely win.

When Rinku hit the winning six, there were crazy celebrations in the KKR camp. The players ran out onto the field and couldn’t believe what had happened. Rinku had shown his prowess with the bat, once again. The big left-hander had created magic, once again, in the IPL and the fans were treated to a spectacle at Ahmedabad.
