The former Indian Cricket Board official added the nation can’t be ignored especially in world cricket.
“The ODI World Cup will also take place next year in India and all big teams around the globe will take part in it. Because, you can’t ignore India in any sport. India has contributed a lot to sports, especially cricket. So, the World Cup will be organised next year, and it will grand and historic event. Home ministry will take a decision as there is security concerns in Pakistan. It’s not just cricket. India is not in a position to listen to anyone,” Thakur said during an event for the announcement of the Khelo India Youth Games.
Pakistan must boycott India across multi-nati0n tournaments: Kamran Akmal
On the other hand, former Pakistan wicketkeeper, Kamran Akmal strongly stated that the next year’s continental tournament must be played in Pakistan. He urged his national side not to play with India at any of the multi-nation tournament. These tournaments includes ODI and 20-20 World Cups and the 2025 Champions Trophy that will be played in Pakistan as well.
“Asia Cup should only be hosted in Pakistan and if that does not happen then Pakistan should not play against India at any level, be it ICC events’ matches, Asia Cup matches, or even their match on October 23,” said Kamran Akmal.
