‘Khatam Tata Bye Bye’ – Fans react as Gujarat Titans beat Lucknow Super Giants by 56 runs in IPL 2023
In the 51st match of the Indian Premier League 2023, Gujarat Titans beat Lucknow Super Giants by 56 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Riding on amazing half-centuries from Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill, GT posted 227/2 after batting first. Despite Quinton de Kock’s half century LSG failed to chase the target.
Earlier, after winning the toss, LSG opted to bowl first on the batting-friendly wicket. Krunal Pandya’s decision didn’t go well with the team as GT batters hammered all LSG bowlers all around the park. Openers, Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill added 142 runs in 12.3 overs. Saha, in his innings, scored 81 runs off 43 balls with the help of ten boundaries and four sixes. He missed out on a deserving century as Avesh Khan dismissed him.
After his departure, Gill, along with GT skipper Hardik Pandya, added 42 runs for the second wicket. Pandya, in his brief innings, scored 25 runs off 15 balls with the help of a boundary and two sixes. In the end, Gill and David Miller added unbeaten 43 runs for the third wicket. Miller, in his innings, scored unbeaten 21 runs off 12 balls with the help of a six and two boundaries. Meanwhile, Gill scored 94 runs off 51 balls with the help of seven sixes and two boundaries.
Mohit Sharma created Hovock in Ahmedabad
Chasing a 200+ score was a very hard task for Lucknow Super Giants as they were playing without their best batter, KL Rahul. However, opener Kyle Mayers, along with Quinton de Kock, added 88 runs for the first wicket. Mayers, in his innings, scored 48 runs off 32 balls with the help of two sixes and seven boundaries. He was dismissed by pacer Mohit Sharma.
However, after his departure, LSG batters failed to build a partnership with de Kock. Deepak Hooda (11), Nicholas Pooran (3), Marcus Stoinis (4) and Krunal Pandya (0) failed to capitalise on the opportunity. Mohit Sharma proved to be the best bowler for Gujarat as he clinched four wickets. He dismissed Mayers, Stoinis, Badoni and Krunal. Apart from him Mohammed Shami, Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed clinched a wicket each.
Here is how fans react to GT’s amazing victory:
Maybe they should rename themselves the "Gujarat Typhoons" because they're blowing away the competition!

They really are a monstrous team….
I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone that they’re top of the table the way they’ve performed so far

TBH. Mayers and QDK both slowed down after initial onslaught. One of them needed to play a Blinder but that didn't happened.
